The drying stage is carried out when the material to be treated presents an initial excessive amount of humidity.
The design, and if necessary, type of drying will therefore be proposed and dimensioned in function to the final result requested.
A typical example of drying is the one obtained by means of rotating drum dryers: in this case the machines operate in “counter-current” or rather the flow of hot gases is opposite to the direction of the raw materials feed and thus increases the thermal process output.
The material to be dried and the hot gas enter the rotating drum and remain inside for the necessary amount of time to heat the mass and evaporate the water.
Depending on the type of raw material, feed size and final grain size required, Manfredini & Schianchi, thanks to vast years of experience in this field, to the personalized solutions proposed by their own technological laboratory and use of the internal pilot plant, are able to handle and treat any type of material with the utilization of the most suitable technology such as:
- Primary and secondary Jaw Crushers
Whenever required our mills can be equipped with on-board heating and/or drying devices.
This is a very important stage carried out after the grinding and selection of treated material.

Transportation of granulated or powdered products can be carried out in different ways, through: pneumatic transport, screw conveyors, conveyor belts or bucket elevators.
The dimensioning of each appliance is always realized on the basis of the plant requirements. If required, it is possible to dimension the plant transport in function to possible future expansions.
The storage of materials is realized with opportunely dimensioned silos that according to necessities can be monolithic or with panels and in any case equipped with all safety devices and optionals needed.
The weighing of material is divided into two stages:
• Macro weighing for main ingredients of the formula.
• Micro weighing for additives.
Absolute precision of the weighing is always guaranteed thanks to the accurate extraction operation.

Mixing of material is carried out by means of a Discontinuous Ploughshare Mixer with total unload. The mixing utensils in the form of a ploughshare or angled blade rotate in a particular disposition on the central shaft inside the horizontal cylindrical chamber, causing turbulence in the mixing that constantly involves all the particles in the mixing process.
In this way, formation of dead zones and low speed movements are avoided, therefore assuring high precision in the mixing.
The finished product, after the mixing stage, can be handled in two ways:
- Direct loading onto trucks for transportation.
- Packaging in bags with consequent palletization & automatic wrapping complete with top cover.
QUALITY CONTROL & DUST REMOVAL
Unlike the traditional plants normally proposed on the market, the solutions of Manfredini & Schianchi foresee a further process cycle aimed at a total control on the quality of the product so as to significantly lower the final cost.
In specific we can supply equipment such as:
- Automatic control of the nets integrity on the screening system by means of the Patented Apparatus CRMS88
- Control of metallic impurities by means of Iron Removers & Metal Detectors.
As far as dust removal is concerned, thanks to self-cleaning filters, our Plants respect all rules & regulations enforced, guaranteeing the protection of the environment.
The entire plant and productive cycle is managed & controlled in a simple manner and is complete with Software and latest generation Electronics guaranteeing total supervision with minimum use of personnel.
